  • Lindsey Cottrell, School Counselor

    Lindsey Cottrell earned her Master’s degree in School Counseling from Liberty University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Before becoming a school counselor, she spent four years teaching first grade and kindergarten, where she developed a deep passion for supporting students’ academic and emotional growth.

    Lindsey enjoys spending time with family and friends and is dedicated to empowering students through solution-focused counseling. She strives to help each student build the skills, confidence, and understanding needed to reach their full potential.

    Rachelle Ogden, MSW, LISW, is proud to serve the students and families of Triway Local Schools. A graduate of The Ohio State University with a Master’s in Social Work, Rachelle has spent the past 12 years providing school-based counseling with a special focus on trauma-informed care. She is passionate about helping students build resilience, confidence, and healthy relationships.

    Outside of school, Rachelle enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and staying active through exercise.

    1. Empower Emotional Awareness: Help students understand, express, and manage their emotions while promoting overall mental health and well-being.
    2. Develop Coping and Growth Strategies: Guide students in identifying behavior patterns and learning effective coping tools to navigate challenges and build resilience.
    3. Collaborate for Student Success: Partner with parents, teachers, and staff to support students in achieving their academic, personal, and social goals.
    4. Provide a Safe and Supportive Space: Offer a confidential, judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and feelings.
    5. Deliver Solution-Focused Counseling: Use goal-oriented, evidence-based counseling approaches that empower students to find practical solutions and make positive changes.
    • Students may request to speak with the counselor.
    • Parents are invited to contact the counselor to request additional support for their child, as needed.
    • A member of the school staff, including classroom teachers, may contact the counselor for additional support.

  • Serve all students across the building in a comfortable, inclusive, and supportive environment. Visits every classroom at least once a month.
  • Provide engaging lessons and activities that promote self-regulation and enhance overall classroom achievement. 
  • Address grade-level specific challenges to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development. As well as conflict resolution, friendships, and more.
  • Encourage the use of problem-solving tools to help students navigate challenges effectively and independently.
  • Promote the use of the Zones of Regulation framework to help students recognize, communicate, and manage their thoughts and feelings appropriately.
